John Hegley & Attila The Stockbroker re-unite

Despite being two of the biggest names in performance poetry John Hegley and Attila The Stockbroker can rarely be found on the same bill. This is often the way for poets when we start doing our own shows and tours, we never get to see our contemporaries. I was lucky enough to compere a gig for these two titans of live verse a few years back at Windsor Arts Centre. It was a brilliant gig to a small but appreciative crowd. Attila and John said then that it was the first time they’d gigged together in 25 years. I was determined not to let that happen again, especially as in 25 years they’d both be even more difficult old men.

So this Thursday 19 November Purple Ronnie’s once again puts on the best poetry bill in London. We’ll be opening the doors to the Water Rats at 7.30pm. Tickets are a very reasonable £8 and I’ll be your host with the toast. Be there.

Water Rats is 328 Grays Inn Road London WC1X 8BZ. Nearest Tube: Kings Cross.
