On Watch Yourself, Luke Wright’s wit and sharp observation meet a rich musical backdrop from longtime collaborator Cobbler. These meditative poems explore the shifting ground of midlife: ageing, children growing up, death, divorce, and the strange business of finding yourself somewhere you never quite imagined you’d be.
Cobbler’s music gives Wright’s words room to breathe, drawing out their tenderness, humour and quiet defiance. Together, they’ve made an album about what we lose, what we keep, and what comes next.
